Couple Traveller

This year we made our 4th-time visit to Nepal with Nepal Hiking and their super professional team! This time we had been to Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley. It was an excellent adventure with stunning views, long treks, and white mountains, and we met people worldwide.

Firstly, in Kathmandu, we stayed in a new hotel, Kathmandu Suite Home, with a big rooftop terrace, hot shower, clean rooms and excellent breakfast. Then we were dropped off by jeep to Soti Khola, where we started our trek. We spent 16 days in the mountains. Every day it was different scenery. The first week till Chhekampar, it was very hot and humid initially, then only hot. Then, with altitude, it became colder but never extremely cold.

Our guide Mahindra did the best for us. He always served hot tea and all meals earlier than other guests in the guesthouses; he used to run ahead early morning to make room reservations for us.

Nature was perfect there. It was nice to make a small side trip to Tsum valley – this helped us acclimate. After that, we made another side trip to Pung Guing Gompa, the Tibetan Border near Samdo and the monastery in Chhekampar. The food in the lodges was tasty, and we had no problems when asked for something other than Dal Bhat.

Until Dharmasala, it was possible to charge cameras and phones, but international mobile phones had no phone connections. Only in Deng we received unlimited WiFi connection for US$ 3, and we could speak with our children. Hot boiled water is usually for additional payment; shower as well. So we took a shower till Dharmasala. It has a nice camp area with two small hotels and warm tents. The views are very nice there.

We drank not-purified water directly from pipelines; it was tasty and had no problems. We spent US$ 200 for tea, a shower and hot water. But we did not drink any alcohol.

It was an excellent adventure for us, which gave us so much pleasure! Thanks to all team of Nepal Hiking! As usual, we are considering our 5th trip with Mr Tilak and his team!
